BOOK YOUR DENTAL APPOINTMENT
If you’re experiencing a dental emergency, don’t wait for the problem to get worse. Prompt emergency dental treatment can often save your tooth, reduce complications, and provide immediate relief. During your visit, our emergency dentist Coquitlam team will quickly assess your condition and recommend the most appropriate treatment.
Your emergency visit may include:
- A complete examination of the affected tooth, gums, and surrounding tissues to identify the cause of your tooth pain or injury.
- Digital X-rays using advanced technology to diagnose fractures, hidden damage, dental infections, or a dental abscess.
- Root canal therapy when infection has reached the nerve of the tooth and preserving the natural tooth is possible.
- Tooth extraction when a damaged or infected tooth cannot be saved.
- Treatment for broken tooth, broken or cracked tooth, cracked tooth, and chipped teeth.
- Care for soft tissue injuries, facial trauma, gum swelling, facial swelling, excessive bleeding, and other common dental emergencies.
- Replacement or temporary repair of lost fillings and damaged restorations.
Seeking emergency dental care quickly can prevent infection from spreading, reduce pain, and help avoid more extensive treatment later. Problems that are left untreated often become more serious and may require more complex procedures.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

Severe Toothache
A severe toothache or persistent toothache can indicate decay, infection, or a dental abscess. Gently rinse your mouth with warm water or warm salt water to keep the area clean. Applying a cold compress to the outside of your face may help reduce swelling and ease pain until you see a dentist.
Broken or Cracked Teeth
If you have a broken tooth, broken or cracked tooth, or cracked tooth, rinse your mouth with warm water and save any broken pieces if possible. Apply a cold compress to help reduce swelling and contact our emergency dentist for urgent dental care soon as possible.
Knocked Out Tooth
If your tooth knocked out completely, pick up the tooth by the crown, not the root. Gently rinse it if dirty, but do not scrub it. If possible, place the tooth back into the socket and hold it in place by gently biting on clean gauze. If that isn't possible, store the tooth in cold milk and contact our emergency dentist immediately.
Swelling or Bleeding
Facial swelling, gum swelling, or excessive bleeding may indicate a serious infection or injury. Apply a cold compress to the affected area and seek urgent care from our dental clinic immediately. In some situations, uncontrolled bleeding may require visiting an emergency room before seeing a dentist.
Tooth Extractions
When a damaged or infected tooth cannot be restored, our dentist may recommend a safe tooth extraction to eliminate pain, stop infection, and protect your oral health.
Root Canals
When infection reaches the centre of a tooth, root canal therapy can remove infected tissue, preserve your natural tooth, and provide lasting relief from severe pain and discomfort.

Nice staff Thomas Eville Dr Imran Mitha created a treatment plan for me that included a crown replacement and facilitating a tooth implant. While performing the procedures Dr Mitha was kind, patient and understanding. He never pushed the surgery if I was feeling uncomfortable and he was always cognizant of my feelings. Every precaution was upheld during the time of Covid. He also helped organize a cleaning program with his dental hygienist. I wish Dr Mitha much success with his new practice in Vancouver.
